North East firms head to Milan
NORTH EAST firms are being offered the chance to find out how they can help make history by being part of Expo 2015 in Milan.
Dating back to the Great Exhibition of 1851 in London, World Expositions are held every five years to celebrate economic, scientific, technological and cultural achievements.
And as this year’s Expo 2010 Shanghai draws to a close, the UKTI is organising a special event for North East companies to find out about the wealth of opportunities available leading up to Expo 2015 in Milan, which will focus on the theme “Feeding the Planet: Energy for Life”.
David Coppock, UKTI’s International Trade Director said: “North East companies have proven time and again that they have the skills and knowledge to compete on the international stage and we’re here to help them secure new business overseas.
“This is just one of a comprehensive programme of events we organised throughout the year to help ensure companies know about the opportunities overseas markets offer and we provide a range of support services that can help them make the most of those opportunities.”
The free event will be held in the Sir Bobby Robson Suite at St James’ Park, Newcastle on Monday, 1 November 2-4pm.
