Industry forerunners deliver Tyneside masterclass
LEADING figures from the world of marketing were in the region yesterday to help North East businesses gain a competitive edge.
Business Link’s Marketing: the art of conference returned to The Sage Gateshead for a third year running and brought together under one roof a host of regional and national marketing experts.
Almost 300 businesses gained practical support on how to achieve a sustained national and international profile and succeed, despite the challenges posed by the economic climate.
Among the speakers were Alastair MacColl, chief executive of Business & Enterprise North East, which delivers the Business Link service in the region; Trevor Beattie, partner at Beattie, McGuinness, Bungay (BMB), the man responsible for advertising campaigns of recent times including Wonderbra’s “Hello Boys” and Rita Clifton, chair of world leading branding consultancy Interbrand, whose clients have included eBay, BMW and McDonalds.
The conference involved a number of interactive workshops, keynote sessions and panel discussions designed to provide delegates with an insight into the most effective marketing techniques and trends to help them strengthen existing relationships and target new markets.
Alastair MacColl, chief executive of BE-NE said: “Marketing: the art of brought together some of the most influential figures from the marketing world to help equip north east businesses with practical advice and information about the latest techniques and trends to help them innovate and succeed.
“This unique event, which is now in its third year, only reinforces Business Link’s commitment to providing businesses in the region with the skills and resources to help them grow.”
