First tenant for new Incubator facility is named

A CAMBRIDGE based firm has been the first to sign up to a new incubator facility in the region.

BioInnovel, a provider of bioprocess monitoring and control technologies, has been lined up to take residence of a new specialist development at The Wilton Centre when work is completed at the end of the year.

The new premises have been designed by the Wilton Centre Facilities Management (WCFM) and the CPI Innovation Accelerator teams to support new businesses working in the science, technology, engineering and life sciences sectors.

Biolnnovel Founder & Technical Director, Joanna Vlahopoulou, said “The collaboration with CPI will contribute to our company’s strategic growth as it will bring us nearer to the bio-industry customer base, and support the validation of our sensing technologies.”

While awaiting completion of the Incubator, BioInnovel has taken up residence in temporary laboratory and office space at The Wilton Centre.

When a 10,000 sq ft facility is completed it will comprise ten specialist laboratory/pilot plant units, with associated equipped communal laboratories and meeting rooms, as well as office space.

Dave Willis, manager of The Wilton Centre said: “The Innovation Accelerator Incubator is a very exciting new venture not just for the Centre but for the region too as it is the first of its kind in the UK.”

He added: “To be welcoming BioInnovel before the development is even complete highlights that we have something unique on offer here. We are delighted they have chosen to be based here and wish them all the very best as they continue to grow and prosper.”
