Gateshead entrepreneur enters elite band
A GATESHEAD Women has been announced as one of the future 100 Young Entrepreneurs of the Year during Global Entrepreneurship Week 2010.
Nicola Alexander, started up daisygreenmagazine.co.uk two years ago as she wanted to offer an alternative to conventional women’s magazines by having an ethical twist amidst the mainstream features.
The 35 year-old has since gone on to build up a readership of 27,000 a month.
Nicola Alexander said: “I am very flattered. I enjoy my work immensely but it’s also really important to me to show that offering an ethical product can be a business advantage as well as creating a better world and this award will highlight that.”

Global Entrepreneurship Week is looking to unleash people’s enterprising ideas to address some of the society’s biggest issues including.
The Future 100 Awards, profiles young entrepreneurs aged 18-35 who are demonstrating entrepreneurial flair and innovation in progressing a responsible business venture.
Founder of Striding Out and organiser of the Future100 awards, Heather Wilkinson added: “The future of our world is in the hands of individuals who are committed to generating commercial and ethical returns.”
