Local site managers do the region proud
THREE North East site managers have been awarded a national Pride in the Job Quality Award, ranking among the top in the country.
Simon Robson, 45, from Billingham, Barrie Dobson, 36, from County Durham and Paul Richie, 34, from Wallsend, all Miller Homes employees, have proven that they are the best in the business by each scooping the prestigious National House-Building Council Quality Award.
Simon, who works on the Heather Lea Green development in Crook and Barrie who looks after Cobblers Hall in Newton Aycliffe also picked up two Seal of Excellence’ awards, whilst Barrie also clinched the special regional award for large house builder, which will see him go on to the Supreme Awards in London on 7 January.
Miller Homes North East production manager Neil Dickie said: “The NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Awards are regarded as the ultimate industry accolade.
“They celebrate the pride which site managers take in their work, the attention to detail they pay to construction and to ensuring the highest standards are met.
“To achieve a ‘Seal of Excellence’ puts you in the top 400 site managers in the country. We are delighted that our team have shone so brilliantly in the competition. Well done to them all.”
The trio were assessed across 38 areas of site management including workmanship, leadership, staff welfare, technical expertise, and health and safety and tested on technical knowledge, consistency in the build process and the quality controls.
Judged by a panel of independent experts over an 18-month period, the awards are the defining seal of approval for buyers who can be rest assured in the knowledge that the home they are buying has met exceptional house building standards.
