Business boost to upskill the region
A SERIES of training work shops are being provided in the region to help North East companies upskill their workforce.
The workshops provided by Business Link, will cover key business topics that will help firms develop key skills to help win new customers, grow their business and increase profitability.
More than 800 people have already benefitted from the training in a range of areas including project management, search engine optimisation, procurement, sales and coaching.
Andy Bolam, Director of Newcastle-based InfraStrate Ltd – a company which supplies bespoke software for point of sale and retail systems – attended an ‘Improving Your Business Through Sales’ workshop.
After putting the advice he received into practice, he has enjoyed increased sales and expanded into new markets.
He said: “Attending the workshop has been a great benefit to the growth and direction of our business. I picked up tips on introducing referral schemes and as a result have implemented our own which has been very successful in generating new sales leads.”
“The information given on targeting specific industries has opened up new opportunities and enabled us to break into new markets. I would recommend any business that is looking to upskill their staff to attend the workshops”.
The day-long workshops are taking place across the region throughout December.
