Middlesbrough firm rolls with it
A NORTH East flooring retailer has rolled out its 24th store in Middlesbrough as part of its commitment to bring 60 new jobs to the region.
In the face of the current economic climate and tough retail market, Franks Flooring Store is creating up to 60 new jobs across the North East, including five at the store in Middlesbrough.
The store currently employs more than 150 people and is poised to expand even further.
Billy Maguire, from Franks the Flooring Store, said: “Opening this new store in Middlesbrough is a proud moment for Franks as we are a family-owned business committed to the North East.
“We have carved out a strong position in a competitive market, which has provided the springboard for this latest programme of growth.
“We have confidence in the future of this region and the signs are there, from our recent success, that the economy is gaining strength.”
The company’s growth comes on the back of a rise in sales over the last two years as householders look to improve their own homes rather than moving.
