Sunderland firm puts best foot forward
ONE of the region’s footwear manufacturers has announced record sales for the third consecutive year.
Sunderland based Brasher has said 2010 sales are up 14% year on year.
The firm said it was bolstered by new product launches such as lightweight leather walking boot ‘Supalite II GTX’ which has exceeded sales forecasts, the introduction of Brasher’s crampon compatible leather mountain boot ‘Kanaga GTX’, and multi activity shoes such as ‘Krypton GTX’.
The weather has also played an important part, especially throughout the wintry conditions of the last quarter
Managing Director, Andy Loeber, said: “Growth has been bolstered by a number of different factors, from innovative and forward thinking product development, mixed with strong, consumer-focused marketing, through to first class customer service and delivery.
“We’ve also worked closely with both our national and independent retailers throughout the year, to ensure we provide in store POS which stands out from the crowd and helps to reach both new and existing customers.”
Overall, Brasher has seen a sales growth of 32% over the past three years, and the order book for Spring Summer 2011 is said to be buoyant.
