North East firms encouraged to tap into foreign markets
FIRMS in the region will be encouraged to tap into foreign markets at a number of seminars being held across the North East.
As part of International Trade Week, UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) will run a number of events from Monday 31 January until Friday 4 February in a bid to boost international trade.
UKTI’s International Trade Advisers (ITA) will be hosting several “Meet your ITA” events during the week, giving companies the chance to talk to their local ITA about the wide range of new and enhanced support services available to help them.
David Coppock, UKTI’s International Trade Director, said: “International Trade Week is an ideal opportunity for companies to find out about the wide range of business potential offered by markets around the world, the best way to exploit them and the support that is on offer to help them achieve their export goals.
“International trade continues to play a key part in the region’s economic success and recent figures have shown that our export performance is once again growing.
“We have regained the great majority of export value lost since the economic downturn began and the annual rolling total value of goods exported from the region is now £11.26bn.”
