Tech experts fly the region’s flag
ONE of the region’s technology experts has been shortlisted for a rising star industry award in the capital today.
Newcastle based SITS Group are one of only seven UK companies to be shortlisted for the award, which will be held by VMware, the California-based $2.4billion market leader in computer server virtualisation and cloud technology.
The three year old company has built a turnover of £1.5m by helping organisations cut costs and increase business performance through rationalising their IT structure.
SITS Group’s commercial director, Phil Cambers, said: “Worldwide, VMware is an industry leader, with 80% of the market and 25,000 partners, so we are really pleased to be one of just seven UK companies to be shortlisted.
“We believe that none of the other shortlisted companies are in the North East and we are very proud to be representing the region. “We’re hoping to do the region proud and bring the top honour home.”
Entrants for the VMware Rising Star award were judged on their technical expertise in providing innovative virtualisation solutions, plus their marketing, sales and business performance.
