New cultural pot puts North East talent first
£100,000 worth of business support is up for grabs to develop exciting new creative projects in partnership with the region’s young people.
NE-Generation is looking for the best up and coming creative businesses and people in the North East and the organisation wants to hear project ideas which could be developed with the entrepreneurs of tomorrow.
Ben Ayrton, Programme Manager said: “The Cultural Innovation Fund is a powerful statement of intent as we seek to develop the best ideas from the freshest talent the North East has to offer.”
“In a world full of cuts, downsizing and uncertainty the Cultural Innovation Fund shines out, providing real opportunities to nurture innovative and exciting projects which will benefit many.”
A team of 13-19 years olds are the driving force behind the Cultural Innovation Fund.
They will be choosing the best 25 ideas and to take part in an Ideas Lab, which will be an energetic and interactive day with artists and young people exploring the ideas together.
NE-Generation is funded by the Legacy Trust UK, an independent charity set up to promote a sporting and cultural legacy from London 2012.
The scheme is supported by the Regional Youth Work Unit and in partnership with Arts Council England North East and Northern Film and Media.
