Worldwide classroom beckons for Teesside entrepreneur

A Teesside entrepreneur has launched her own unique business which aims to impact children’s lives all over the world.

Shonette Bason, 38, will take her brand ‘Shonette on a Shoestring’ global in an attempt to take her creative and innovative teachings to inspire primary school teachers in the UK, Europe and the Middle East.

Having taught in both the UK and overseas, the mother of four is set to embark on a nationwide tour to speak to teachers and also bring along inspiring speakers to give teachers ideas and methods to increase success in the classroom.

March this year will see the former Thornaby Village Primary School teacher delivering the first ‘Early Years Are Forever’ event in Teesside before taking the brand to Nottingham, Manchester and London in addition to being booked to speak at a conference in Dubai.

She said: “It has always been my dream to one day start my own business with the sole aim being to make a positive difference in schools. Every primary teacher in the UK today is doing an incredible but increasingly challenging job.

“Budgets are being cut and yet targets are as ever increasing.

“Teachers need to be uplifted too and what I bring to the events is high energy and heaps of fun to help teachers deliver their curriculum on a shoestring budget. “
