North East building society invests in its future
The region’s largest building society has strengthened its customer-facing team by appointing five staff members to branch manager positions across its North East office network.
Newcastle Building Society has given Jean Fairweather, Laura Robson, Ian Macleod, Jade Rennison and Lee Metters responsibility for leading their own teams and developing the Newcastle’s operations across their own geographical territories.
All five of them bring experience gained in different locations across the Newcastle’s 30-strong heartland branch network, as well as commercial knowledge gained in other roles.
Each branch manager within the Newcastle ‘s network has responsibility for offering the products, services, support and advice that meet local customers’ requirements.
Steve Urwin, Sales and Marketing Executive, at Newcastle Building Society, said: “Our heartland branch network is at the core of what we are as a mutual - while we’ve broadened our services through telephone and internet-based operations, it is the core of our custom-facing operations.
“We believe in internal promotion and nurturing talent where possible and these appointments are representative of this.
“All our new branch managers have developed successful careers with the Newcastle, and we’re confident they will continue to bring great commitment, enthusiasm and expertise to their new posts.”
