Major job fair heads to Tyneside
THE Sage Gateshead will play host to a major jobs fair next week in a bid to drive employment in the region.
The day-long event will bring together some of the country’s biggest employers in customer service, adult care and financial services as they look to help unemployed people in the region find their way back to work.
More than 30 employers will be in attendance, all with current vacancies to fill, including Santander, Convergys, Orange, Northern Recruitment, Care UK, Barclays and Lloyds TSB.
Visitors to the event will also have immediate access to a range of employment and training experts from Connexions, the North East Apprentice Company and Jobcentre Plus, which can help people to find the right career choice.
Gateshead Council will also be offering a free CV ‘MOT test’ to ensure that your CV speaks volumes for you, and Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs will be on hand to offer tax advice for anyone thinking of setting up their own business.
