First apprenticeship ambassador appointed by NEAC
A company which finds apprentices for regional organisations has appointed its first ambassador to highlight the crucial role of apprenticeships and the benefits they provide.
Tim Lamb, 49, the general manager of the MetroCentre has become an ambassador for the North East Apprenticeship Company (NEAC).
He said: “I am very excited to be able to stand up for young people and the prospects that should be out there for them. Apprenticeships are a great way to get onto the workforce ladder and they can provide a good start to rewarding and successful careers.”
By encouraging more businesses to develop apprenticeship programmes, Mr Lamb hopes to provide young people with the same opportunities he was fortunate to have when he first started out.
Tim Lamb began full time work when he was 16 as an apprentice in the parts department at Mill Garages.
This paved the way for a career in customer service-based industries culminating in becoming general manager of Eldon Square before taking up his current job at the MetroCentre.
