Zytronic chairman steps down
The chairman of Gateshead touchscreen firm Zytronic has resigned to devote more time to his other business interests, which include North East specialist glass company Romag Holdings.
David Banks joined Zytronic in the late 1990s and helped the company grow into an £8m-a-year business which employs close to 200 people.
He was the company’s finance director when it joined the AIM in 2000 and last July became chairman.
Among his other interests, is his role of finance director at County Durham glass company Romag – which also saw its chairman step down last month amid reports of an investigation into a multi-million pound payment.
Mr Banks will be replaced by Tudor Davies, the current senior independent non-executive director of the firm.
Mr Davies has over twenty years listed company experience as a director of Castle Support Services plc, chairman of Dowding & Mills Plc, chairman of Stratagem plc, chairman and chief executive of Hicking Pentecost Plc, and as a non- executive director of Scottish Highland Hotels Plc.
Mr Davies said: “[Over] 11 years David has helped to guide the business through its significant development and I, and the rest of the Board, wish him well for the future.”
