Major design event to take place in the region
Next week will see a national design event-taking place in the region which aims to promote the value of design to business.
The two-day programme, organised by Design Network North, aims to assist firms to appreciate the true value of design and how it can make a difference to businesses, giving them a creative and competitive edge.
Over 200 businesses nationwide are expected to attend the programme, which will compromise workshops and master classes in addition to key note speakers from some of the worlds leading firms, including: Aston Martin, Dyson, Herman Millar, Hasbro and Nissan.
Gordon Ollivere MBE, chief executive, RTC North, said: “Business coming to the event will get an insight into how some of the world’s leading companies differentiate their products through design.
“Good design is the key to future competitiveness. At a time when product quality standards are universally high and costs have been driven relentlessly downward, innovative design and improved functionality have become the most important factors in success or failure in the marketplace.
“Design Network North has been established to support innovative companies in the development of high value world class products and services, and the regional commitment through an investment in a Northern Design Centre will be an excellent catalyst for the North East.
