Darlington firm makes further expansion

A Darlington-based building manitenance firm has expanded out of the region by opening two new offices to cope with increasing supplier demand.

Stone Technical Services has launched a new office in Cheshire and re-located its London site to a more central location.

The firm now has premises in Cheadle Hulme near Stockport, close to Piccadilly Circus on Orange Street in central London, Pinner in Middlesex and its headquarters in Darlington.

Since the turn of the year, the company has seen an increase in new contracts around the country.

Managing director, Dave Stone said: “The opening of the new offices reflects our commitment to steadily grow and develop around the UK to put a North East business on the map.

“Cheshire was an obvious location as it’s central to many projects for us and we decided to relocate to bigger and more convenient premises in London as we are now working a lot in that area.”

The firm, which employs 28, has been contracted to carry out condition surveys on Westminster Methodist Church and at Brompton Oratory, also known as the London Oratory Church.

In addition, the Stone’s team will be carrying out more conservation work at the Royal Courts of Justice as part of a long-running partnership.

Further north, Stone has completed a contract with HSBC to carry out façade works at banks in Rotherham, Barton-on-Humber and Selby.

The firm, which has been running since 1998, has announced that they are planning to grow the workforce throughout 2011 both in the North East and around the UK.
