A series of workshops is set to take place in the region aimed at entrepreneurs looking for Dragon’s Den-style investment.

North East Access to Finance, has developed the five routes to Investment workshops in partnership with Newcastle Science City with the aim of helping companies formulate their business plan.

The free workshop series is aimed at businesses that are looking to attract investment and will cover sales, marketing and commercialisation; management skills and capacity; financials and exit strategy; management controls and governance and legals and compliance.

Alan Holmes, project director for North East Access to Finance, said: “Anyone seeking the help of a business angel or venture capitalist needs a business plan that meets specific guidelines.

“We are delighted so many experts in business, law and finance have sponsored this series of courses enabling people to receive the best possible help and advice absolutely free of charge.”

At each workshop, participants will hear from experts in their field and be given a business plan template to identify areas in which they need to improve.

They will also be able to meet other businesses, investors and experts who can help them write and present a credible business plan.
