Be my baby - a world leader expands
Baby products group Tommee Tippee has completed a £250,000 expansion at its Cramlington headquarters.
The 2000sq ft extension was carried out by Team Valley-based Koru Property Services and the development doubles the goods in/goods out facility at the flagship premises on Dudley Lane.
Tommee Tippee is one of the UK’s largest manufacturers of baby accessories and it is rated the sixth biggest company globally in its field.
Koru Property Services managing director, Mark Taylor, said: “Tommee Tippee is an internationally recognised manufacturer of great baby products and we are pleased to have carried out work on behalf of Fergusons which will have a real impact on [the company’s] future success.
“The building work was completed in 12 weeks and we were more than happy with the results.”
An average of 20 deep sea containers a week deliver goods at the 115,000sq ft warehouse while more than 40 trailers a week have been leaving the site, bound for supermarkets and baby specialists as far afield as the Middle East and South Africa.
