Whelan launches maintenance operations
A construction firm – with an annual turnover of £25m and 60 employees – has announced the launch of a new maintenance division as it drives further growth at the company.
Whelan Construction, based in Gosforth, believes it is experiencing a marked return of confidence in the market and has appointed a new team to the development of its new division.
New employee Lee Brewster has been tasked with heading up the new venture, having previously held senior positions with Surgo and Rok.
Whelan recently completed a £200,000 office extension to Salem Tubes’ £3.5m headquarters in Prudhoe.
Meanwhile, work continues on schedule for Whelan’s major £10m redevelopment of New Bridge Street to provide new student accommodation for Northumbria University.
Work there is due to be completed in the summer.
