North East accountancy firm kicks off charity challenge
TEES Valley businesses and organisations have been challenged to use their corporate and fundraising skills to turn £50 into £50,000 in the name of charity.
Accountancy firm Evolution LLP is kicking off its third Corporate Challenge with an official launch event at Wynyard Hall on 30 March, which will see organisations who have signed up receive a £50 note.
The aim of the challenge is to at least double the cash, through any legal and ethical means possible within three months, with ‘most monies raised’, ‘most innovative idea’, ‘student team’, and ‘special judges’ awards being handed out to teams at the end of the challenge.
The official launch event will also see presentations from each of the charities, allowing participants to see how the money raised will benefit the three hospices; Zoë’s Place Baby Hospice, St Teresa’s Hospice and the Hartlepool & District Hospice.
After raising £33,000 in 2009 and £33,700 in 2010 organisers are hoping to beat last year’s total in order to make a difference to the three deserving hospices that are so important to the lives of vulnerable people in the region.
Client Partner, Ray Priestman said: “The launch event is an extremely important part of the Evolution Corporate Challenge as not only is it where participants will receive the £50 note, it is also a chance for them to learn more about how the money they raise will help the charities.
“We’d like to thank all of those who have signed up already, but would like to remind companies, organisations and schools in the Tees Valley that there is still time to sign up and support such worthwhile causes.”
The Evolution Corporate Challenge official launch event will take place from 5.30pm on 30 March at Wynyard Hall.
