Nokia plans M-Commerce overhaul
Analysts have caused a stir recently by predicting a Nokia-backed, m-commerce ready Windows Phone 7, that will put top platform providers Google and Apple firmly in the shade.
The stats coming from the International Data Corporation (IDC) said that joining Nokia to Microsoft, could rapidly increase the latter’s flagging smart phone sales . With a predicted growth of Windows’ market share from 5.5% to 20.9% by 2015.
By pairing with recently dethroned communications leader Nokia, Windows could gain the hardware edge to upset the apple cart and expel IOS from the number two position.
This news comes just as a recent report disclosed that Microsoft will include mobile payment technology in it’s the next edition of the Windows operating system. This could mean sleeping smart phone giants could cash in on rising smart phone adoption levels and the display advertising marketplace boosted by m-commerce on their way to the top.
Other results from the survey predicted that Apple’s IOS is expected to fall from 15.7% in 2011 to 15.3% market share by 2015. The Android though remains untouchable –moving from a 39.5% share in 2011, to 45.4% by 2015.
