Firms offered an essential guide to venture capital
A GROUP of top finance and legal professionals from across the region has announced plans to give entrepreneurs an essential guide to venture capital funding later this month.
Representatives from private equity firm Rivers Capital, accountants and business advisory group RMT and law firm Ward Hadaway will join forces on May 24 for an in-depth seminar designed to give entrepreneurs the low-down on the subject.
Rivers Capital is currently managing the North East Angel Fund, part of the £125m Finance for Business North East Fund, which looks to invest in smaller, entrepreneurial businesses with sums of between £50,000 and £150,000.
The event at the offices of RMT in Newcastle, is the latest in a series of seminars organised by Rivers Capital on the Angel Fund.
Over 40 companies have already attended previous seminars held over the past 10 months and a number of funding deals are nearing completion as a result of the events.
Stephen Slater, partner at RMT, said: “There is great demand within the North East business community for venture capital backing and it can play a major role in transforming ambitious ideas into successful enterprises.
“Unlocking it, however, is not always easy, which is why we have decided to give entrepreneurs a stripped-down view of how it works and how best to access it.”
The seminar takes place from 8.30am on May 24 at RMT’s offices on Gosforth Park Avenue in Newcastle.
Places are free. To apply for a place, email your Business Plan to Marie Potts at email@example.com or call 0191 230 6370 to discuss.
A further seminar will be held at the offices of Ward Hadaway on Newcastle’s Quayside on June 21.
Applications for places for this event should be made via the same route.
