A hotel chain has announced plans to open a second hotel in the Newcastle area creating up to 80 new jobs.
Jurys Inn Newcastle Gateshead Quays, which will open on August 25th, will be a 203 bedroom, four storey hotel in the heart of Gateshead’s Baltic Quays
David Malanaphy, cluster general manager Jurys Inn Newcastle and Jurys Inn NewcastleGateshead Quays said: **“**We’re delighted to be opening a second new hotel in the Newcastle area in response to a clear increase in demand for accommodation in the city.
“We’re keen to work with the local community and the local workforce, to ensure the hotel is a valuable asset to the area.”
The hotel will boast an outdoor terrace, riverside bar and restaurant in addition to three conferances rooms.
The arrival of Jurys Inn NewcastleGateshead Quays will make Jurys Inn the largest hotel provider in the city centre.
Jurys Inn NewcastleGateshead Quays will join its sister hotel across the river, which opened in 2003.

He added:“We hope the hotel becomes a great place, not only for visitors to NewcastleGateshead but for local people to enjoy a meal or drink with their friends and family.”
