Plumbing new heights

A heating and plumbing company has announcing ambitious expansion plans after celebrating its best year yet.

Blackwell Heating & Plumbing Services in Darlington has recently taken on four new employees as well as announcing plans to recruit further by the end of the year after generating a record turnover of £1m last year.

The fast-growing company run by husband and wife team, Andrew and Claire Thomas recently moved to its new location on North Road which allowed room to create a new showroom and expand the team. It has since recruited Josh Stewart as trainee, Adam Lancaster as plumber, Anth Worton as gas engineer and Deborah Jay as main receptionist.

Andrew Thomas said: “We have a fantastic reputation throughout the whole of the North East for the great pride we take in our workmanship. All of our plumbers, joiners and heating engineers are in house to keep the same high quality standard and our after-sales care is second to none.

“Our environmental focus has also led to significant demand as we are always keen to save the client money by installing the most energy efficient products tailored to their exact needs.”

The company which employs over 20 staff and has large contracts with many local hotels and pub chains recently expanded to offer complete bathroom design and fitting, complete central heating systems and fireplaces as well as the usual installation and maintenance.
