Packaging firm has expansion all wrapped up
A North East packaging distributer is expanding on the back of new business and has created 3 new jobs in the process.
G M Packaging (UK) Limited has moved from a 6,000 ft² unit to a newly refurbished site on the Tyne Tunnel Trading Estate.
At 12,000 ft² the new unit at Hamar Close is twice the size of the old premises.
Graham Montague, managing director, said: “Due to a number of new contracts we had to move to a larger site.
“We are delighted with the new site as it has enabled us to continue to grow and expand our operations on Tyneside.
“Since we started in 2001 our operations have expanded rapidly to meet the ever increasing demands of our customers. The move to a larger premises reflects our most recent growth.”
The firm which now employs 13 members of staff supplies catering and food packaging, including paper coffee cups, sandwich packaging and salad packaging.
The company supplies its catering products to the NHS, Greggs, Fenwick, Proctor & Gamble as well as a number of local authorities.
He added: “Our recent expansion means that we can offer even more products and services to our customers.”
