New site aims to revolutionise the job market
A FORMER company manager has battled back from redundancy by launching an online firm which aims to help unemployed people across the country out of the dole queue and into work.
Jason Rackley, from Stockton, lost his job at a security business last year and subsequently found it incredibly difficult to find new employment amid dire economic conditions.
Disillusioned by a job market ravaged by cutbacks and soaring unemployment, he decided to create a job for himself by setting up his own online empire.
Compareapplications.co.uk is a new web service which helps to make job hunting easier and also assists employers in targeting top talent for their organisations.
The site will act as a database of job application forms linked to what will eventually be thousands of job adverts in the North East and eventually the wider UK and European regions.
It will allow job seekers to save time by applying for jobs directly online, instead of waiting for forms to be sent in the post, while employers will receive applications via their own free account on the site.
Mr Rackley said: “Last year I was laid off and found it really hard to find another job and I was getting no help at the job centre. This inspired me to start up on my own and to help other people find work, making it easier for workers and employers. For people who are dyslexic like me, the site couldn’t be easier to use.
“I feel great that I went ahead and did it as no one has done this before and it’s a totally new concept in internet job searching. It is going to take time to build up awareness but we are already increasing our unique users every day.
“Our aim is to make the process of looking for that perfect job a lot easier, both for the job seeker and the employer.”
