Apprentice bodies join forces
Following a governmental pledge to fund thousands of apprenticeships, three national organisations will be joining forces next month to discuss how to boost the development of apprentices.
The special event on 6 July will see the manufacturers’ organisation EEF, the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills and Apprentice Ambassadors Network come together to discuss ways companies can benefit from employing apprentices.
EEF’s Director of Apprentice and Skills Peter Winebloom said: “Skills shortages remain a major concern for manufacturing and are in danger of holding bck economic recovery.”
The event next month will seek to increase awareness of the benefits of apprentices for businesses by offering practical advice on how companies could profit from government funding in this area of their business.
The keynote address at the morning event will be from John Hayes MP, Minister with responsibility for apprenticeship policy.
There will also be the opportunity to quiz companies who have benefited from the apprenticeship scheme as well as the chance to meet and network with other companies and Further Education representatives.
