Tourism Minister visits the North East
The Tourism and heritage minister John Penrose MP is visiting some of the North East’s main tourist attractions this afternoon.
The visit, hosted by the Northern Tourism Alliance will also give the Minister the opportunity to meet with businesses and key tourism representatives in the region to discuss the current challenges and opportunities facing the industry in the region.
Sarah Stewart, chief executive of destination marketing agency NewcastleGateshead Initiative said:
“At a time when tourism organisations and businesses across the North East England are facing a challenging future, this is a key opportunity to showcase our fantastic visitor offer to the minister, as well as a valuable opportunity to ensure that the regions voice is heard.”
“Working as an alliance across the region, and alongside private sector partners, we must ensure that we continue to engage effectively at a national level, in particular with those influencing and delivering national tourism policy.”
