Onyx wins contract with Global Software Giant
A technology solutions provider in the region has won a contract with global software company to be the first UK provider of software-as-a-server technology.
Onyx Group will now have the facilities to provide customers with SAP software, which will allow businesses to manage critical functions, including sales, distribution and financials in a single integrate off-premise system,
It is hoped that this software will help organisations benefit from lower ownership costs and improved scalability.
Stockton based Onyx are experts on cloud computing techniques and have a large client base of midsize businesses that often have limited IT resources. The new software will allow Onyx to configure SAP BusinessOne to customer specifications, as well as hosting the system and running the software using an Application Management Service.
Neil Stephenson, CEO of Onyx Group said: “More and more companies are inevitably moving data and application services out of the workplace and into data centres to benefit from the availability and quality of service.
“As the market matures and cloud companies become second nature, its only natural that clients are comfortable with consuming applications as a service and we intend to be proactive in having our product ready.”
Neil also expressed his honour and delight at the new partnership with SAP, and hopes that the union will provide Onyx with the opportunity to bolster the company’s existing service portfolio.
Rich Phillips, director of channel at SAP also sees Onyx as an ideal partner: “Geared to organisations with limited IT resources, SAP Business One is an integrated solution that can help small businesses get the synergy they need across different business functions.
“The software is available as a hosted package enabling smaller companies to run the solution on a laptop instead of a server.”
