bdaily speaks with Iain McPherson from Big Bite Creative, a new web design agency

Big Bite Creative has only been up and running for six weeks, but Iain McPherson and his fellow directors have high aspirations for the company.

Combining many years of hands on experience in the design industry, Iain and three of his friends decided to go it alone and set up the agency earlier this year. All four had a similar vision for the business – to provide high quality website design and development to high profile clients.

“We are still building the company identity, but our aim is to create a portfolio of premium brand designs which set us aside as market leaders” Iain said.

So far this plan appears to be working well for the fledgling company, after securing big contracts for the likes of Design My Night, an online pub database, and Media Safari; a PR agency in Bath. They are also in talks with a leading car retailer.

“When we launched we had a full order book for the first two months, and we’ve used that time to keep on top of orders and to attract new business.” He continued.

Web design is a big business these days, and there is the danger that the fledgling agency could be swallowed into a gulf of other companies offering similar services. However, Iain doesn’t seem too worried.

“Of course its concerning when there are so many freelancers and other design companies in the market,” he said. “But we can offer the whole package – the technology, the creative side and strategy to ensure we deliver the best possible product to our clients.”

He was also keen to issue a warning to consumers about low quality websites; “If companies go for the £99 websites, they will not get the reliability, the support and the resources we can offer to them.”

The company is now firmly focussed on their future; “ We’re determined to create a strong brand for the business, both in the North East and nationally. By creating a creative and innovative reputation, this should help Big Bite become a big success.“
