200 new jobs at Nissan

Nissan is creating up to 200 new engineering and maintenance jobs at its plant in Sunderland.

The new positions will support the introduction of electric vehicle technology at the plant, the production of the LEAF and the next generation Qashqai, as well as providing support to the current record levels of production.

Kevin Fitzpatrick, Nissan Vice President for Manufacturing in the UK, said: “Nissan is actively recruiting for new engineers and maintenance technicians to join our highly skilled workforce at our Sunderland Plant.

“These new recruits will play a key role not only in maintaining our record production levels, but in making sure that our Battery Plant and future new models are introduced successfully.”

Nissan is also one of the companies currently involved in the UK Talent Retention Solution, which looks to match a number of forthcoming job opportunities with skilled engineers facing redundancy in the defence sector.

The company is currently advertising for a variety of positions, including production engineers, facility engineers and a variety of technical posts.
