Greggs in SkillsBridge Partnership
One of the biggest businesses in the region has formed a partnership with a local community organisation, through the help of SkillsBridge.
Greggs will now begin to work with St Martin’s Centre Partnership and it is hoped that the partnership will help them to save money and time, as well as safeguarding the future development of the programme.
SkillsBridge matched the two companies on the basis of the expertise offered by the expertise of Gregg’s group safety, health and environment manager Paul Rhodes.
Ciara Van Vogt, chief officer of the St Martin’s Centre Partnership, comments:
“Paul very quickly assessed our existing health and safety documentation, reassuring us of our existing best practice and identifying areas of development for the centre.”
Through Paul’s help, St Martin’s was able to ensure that all of its health and safety documentation was in order so they could continue to provide vital community services in Byker and Walker.
Ciara added: “This process has delivered several major benefits for us. It has enabled us to reaffirm the importance and responsibilities of health and safety issues to our team and volunteers and minimise risks to the centre.
“The work also puts St Martin’s in a strong position to secure future funding, as health and safety is often a key part of the application process. We are delighted with the support received from Paul and cannot praise him highly enough.”
