DLC celebrates training successes in Pakistan
A Durham based training company is celebrating after the expansion of its business into Pakistan.
DLC Worldwide has signed two ‘memorandums of understanding’, to deliver training to a Pakistani government advisory group and also to the Lahore Chamber of Commerce.
The company will now be providing City and Guilds and OCN courses, which despite being British, are also internationally recognised.
Alan Linden DLC Worldwide’s CEO said: ““Pakistan is a big opportunity for us, there’s a huge training need across the country.
“We’re going to be working with industry to offer quality training and internationally recognized qualifications, and we’re going to be working with the government to get education and training out to a wider audience.”
The company will also be working with Pakistani universities and colleges to enhance their own training to meet exacting national and international standards.
This partnership is a positive boost for the company, and they are now planning the creation of jobs here and abroad.
He added: “Our international growth strategy means we have to grow locally, here in the North East too. We need academics and assessors, industry professionals, marketers and support professionals.
DLC is committed to providing high quality training to students in more than 47 countries. It is now hoping for a similar deal to be set up with the Malaysian government.
“Obviously the company has to be productive and profitable, but it’s also got to be making a difference in the communities that we’re engaging with.
“Education can change a country, it’s soft power and I’m sure that the Pakistani government has recognized that.”
