Local charity branches out to Middlesbrough

A local charity helping vulnerable people back into the workplace has opened new offices in Middlesbrough, from which they will serve the Tees Valley area.

The Cyrenians will now offer employment and training help through the Ready for Work Programme on behalf of the Business in the Community. Individuals will be given the opportunity to access help writing CVs, interview techniques an practice, coaching, short term placements and ultimately, employment.

Stephen Bell, chief executive of The Cyrenians said: “We are delighted to be opening an office in Middlesbrough. As an organisation we are both experts and facilitators: we often work in collaboration with other experts and we are highly skilled in drawing together effective partnerships.

“We’re very much looking forward to developing new relationships in the Tees Valley area and of course, helping to change lives and build futures.”

The new offices will be housed at the NECC’s Tees Valley HQ at Commerce House in Middlesbrough. James Ramsbotham, Chief Executive of the NECC has stressed the benefits projects like this can have on communities.

He commented: “From experience I can tell you its so heartening to se how people can turn their lives around when they properly engage with caring and compassionate people who really know how to support them”

The Cyrenians will now begin to work with local businesses in the Middlesbrough area to get as many people into jobs as possible.
