Entrepreneurial brothers open new wine bar for Darlington
It’s a family affair at Vesuvio, Darlington’s newest wine merchants and bar.
Entrepreneurial brothers Darren and Adrian Shield decided to set up the venue to fill the gap in Darlington for an upmarket wine retailer and bar, and will serve and sell fine wines which are almost exclusive to the region.
They also hope to run wine tastings and corporate events at the bar.
Darren said: “There are loads of bars for younger people in Darlington but there’s nothing really that caters for younger and older people that really appreciate wine.
“If we can prove the concept is popular in Darlington, which we believe we will, we are expecting to open up further venues in the North East.”
The pair have already taken on wine expert Tom Lilico to help them, and are looking to recruit a further 3 members of staff.
