Celebrating multiples
The More Than One Charity aims to raise awareness of the work
of The Women’s Services Directorate based at the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI) in Newcastle upon Tyne.
We are raising funds to purchase essential equipment and teaching materials needed
in the safe delivery of multiple births.
The fourth annual ‘More than One’ event was held in Leazes Park, Newcastle, and was organised by Sandra Bosman, the UK’s first midwife specialising in mothers expecting multiple babies.
Sandra, who won Midwife of the Year 2007 and is based at Newcastle’s RVI, said: “The last two year’s events have been fabulous. We’ve met up with 170 sets of twins, three sets of triplets and one set of quads.
“So far we’ve managed to raise more than £20,000 and we’d love to beat that amount this year.”
