Local business contributes to BUPA Great North Run
R & B Group is just one of the many local businesses set to help ensure this weekends BUPA Great North Run goes smoothly.
The Newcastle based events Production Company is currently hard at work installing equipments in two areas of the 13-mile stretch between Newcastle and South Shields.
The firm are providing 20 plasma screens at the end of the race, as well as an outdoor PA system for the “Boost Zone” at around the 11-mile mark.
It is the third year R&B Group have worked on the BUPA Great North Run, and over the years the firm has formed close relations with both BUPA and Nova, who runs the event.
Creative production manager Richard Goodaire believes there really is “something special” about the event.
He commented: “It really is a spectacular sign to see 50,000 people running past you, and we work on projects all over the UK and Europe, its fantastic to be able to contribute to something so fantastic right on your doorstep.
“Everyone gets a buzz out of working the event, and every year we have a number of crew involved, both working and running in the event – sometimes even both!”
The R & B Group have also worked on the BUPA Great North Run Hall of Fame Charity Dinner at the Hilton Hotel Gateshead, which honours individuals and athletes involved with the run.
