2010 Women Into The Network Best Small Business winner Angela Place from Harland Hair and Beauty talks to bdaily

Could you tell us a little bit about your business?
Harland Corporation, the internationally renowned hair and beauty company, owns and operates multiple worldwide ecommerce stores attracting millions of unique visitors in the massive £6.4 billion hair and beauty industry.
Owning some of the United Kingdoms most prestigious domain names, some of which have been around for over ten years, Harland holds number 1 spots in Google for some top level key words including hair extensions.
With 11 awards won in just over 12 months, including 1 national, we are a prestigious multi-awarding company.
What did winning the award do for you on both a personal and company level?
To say the company has benefitted from the awards is an understatement and the power of being an award winning company is hugely influential to winning new business. If you are fortunate enough to win the 2011 awards, make sure you wear your achievement with pride and let the whole world know that you’re not only great, but award winningly great! Good luck.
What benefits do you receive from WIN and why should others get involved?
Women in business should enter the WIN awards as it gives you and your company recognition for being a woman who started a company and made it successful. You get good press coverage which boosts your name within the industry that you are in and gives your company credibility.

I would like to thank WIN so much for recognising me in 2010 and giving me the opportunity to get my story out there. Press and media companies such as bdaily have also been great for producing the coverage we have received since winning the award.
