New premises for stricken businesses thanks to UK Steel Enterprise
UK Steel Enterprise has saved two local businesses who were only hours from eviction by offering them new premises in Redcar.
Sign Art and Class Fundraising were neighbours in another Redcar business unit when they were told they would have to vacate their premises the same day.
Both businesses were found new units at UK Steel Enterprise’s Innovation Centre on the Kirkleatham Business Park, with only hours to spare.
Eddie Guy runs family signage company Sign Art, who design, manufacture, and install bespoke signs, vehicle graphics, wall wraps, banners and print.
He said: “We expected to have to find temporary crisis accommodation then look for somewhere permanent and move all over again.
Simon Fulton runs Class Fundraising with Mark Simpson. Together the pair produce personalised fund-raising items for schools and other organisations in the UK and Europe, including tea-towels, Christmas cards and mugs.

Nick Johnson of UK Steel Enterprise added that this had been a real emergency for the two businesses and that his team were eager to get them relocated quickly, to avoid any disruption.
He said: “Our centres are designed to support new and growing businesses so we appreciated how speed was vital for them. There is a real business community here so I wasn’t at all surprised that other
tenants came forward to lend a hand as well.”
