bdaily goes behind the scenes of Sara Eke Recruitment
Sara Eke Recruitment Ltd is an independent recruitment consultancy which I established in March 2004 to provide a professional and personal temporary, permanent and interim recruitment service to companies throughout the North East. I am a director of the company and perform all recruitment activities, business development, networking together with the day-to-day running of the company.
What key challenges has your company recently faced?
Due to the economic climate companies have been trying other ways to recruit such as their own websites, job centres, referrals and advertising. Also there has been a dramatic drop in recruitment activity across the commercial sector in the last eighteen months.
What is your biggest achievement over the past 12 months?
Surviving and keeping our heads above water!
What is your biggest focus for the coming year?
Continuing to believe that the economy will improve and to keep delivering a professional recruitment service and keep networking.
If you had to choose one top piece of advice for someone just starting out in business, or is currently operating within your industry sector, what would it be?
Always treat people the way you would like to be treated.
Can you share with us your view of the current landscape of business, in this region or generally and where your organisation sits within it?
I believe that the people of the North East are very resilient and that as a region we will bounce back. Local businesses continue to thrive in both national and international arenas and we all need to continue to believe in what we are doing and remain true to our core business activities.
