Local designer turns heads on Millennium Bridge
A local lingerie designer turned a few heads over the weekend, after she showcased her new Tallulah Love collection on the Millennium Bridge.
On Friday evening over 30 models paraded Michelle Taylor’s luxury designs across the millennium bridge, as onlookers were handed roses supplied by Katherine’s Florist of Newcastle.
Local band ‘My Other Life’ serenaded the glamorous march with a rendition of The Beatles’ ‘All You Need Is Love.’
Prior to the event, Michelle posted tantalizing clues on Twitter and Facebook, but the event largely remained a secret, until the models alighted a double decker bus next to the Baltic.
Michelle admitted the event was risky, but decided to take a chance: “With the Turner Prize here, I just thought it was such a great opportunity to showcase some of Newcastle’s other great creative offerings.
“And maybe it was a bit cheeky, but that’s what we’re about with Tallulah Love.
“There are so many entrepreneurial people up here with a real sense of community and spirit - I’m thrilled to say that fashion and art are alive and living harmoniously, side by side.”
Established in January 2010, Tallulah Love offers a range of luxury lingerie, which is sold in over 20 countries.
Michelle’s background is as UK director of Playboy Intimates, a role she gave up to start her own business in the North East.
Since then, she has supplied the likes of Cheryl Cole with her designs, and has been championed by Diane Youdale, otherwise known as ‘Jet’ from ITV’s Gladiators.
