Executives see pay increase of fifty percent
Many directors in the UK have seen their pay rise by up to 50% in the past year.
The BBC reports that a survey by Incomes Data Services said this took the average directors pay for a FTSE 100 company to just under £2.7 million.
This increase was far higher than that of the chief executive, who’s salary only rose 43% over the year.
While basic salaries rose by just 3.2%, director bonus payments rose by 23%m from an average of £737,000 in 2010 to £906,000 this year
The editor of the survey commented: “Britain’s economy may be struggling to return to pre recession levels of output, but the same cannot be said of FTSE 100 directors’ remuneration.”
Closer inspection of pay awards` is expected in the future.
