R&B Group head to Nottingham for National Trust AGM

Local events production company R&B Group are taking their services down to Nottingham this weekend for this years National Trust annual general meeting.

R&B group have been involved with the AGM for the past 6 years, after the charity held its AGM in Newcastle City Hall.

“When they came here we were given the opportunity to quote for work,” explains development director Anthony Crerar. “They were looking for local suppliers, and after tendering for contracts, we ended up providing the staging, lighting, and camera packages.”

Since then, R&B has maintained contact with the charity, providing services at further AGM’s in Brighton and Liverpool.

At this years event, around 2000 National Trust members will be in attendance, many of whom will be elderly or hard of hearing, so R&B have adapted their services accordingly.

“We have provided big screens with large fonts, and have had to ensure that the PA system is loud and clear,” Anthony continues.

The National Trust is also looking to appeal to its younger members, and will be streaming the AGM online through a web cast supported by R&B.

“The Trust is moving with the times, and was one of the first of this type of organisation to stage web casts for members.

“We will be providing live shots of the auditorium, as well as what’s going on the stage.”

This contract is a great coup for North East based R&B, who are keen to promote their services nationwide.

“We are incredibly proud to have this contract on our CV, especially in these difficult economic times.

“During the tender process there are always budget constraints, and we endeavour to provide the best possible value for our clients, whilst ensuring we retain a high standard of service.

“This weekends event one of the key events on the National Trust calendar, so by asking us to provide services at the AGM is a recognition that what we do is top quality.”

Despite their hard work at the AGM, there will be no rest for the R&B team this weekend. Immediately after the event they will be heading down to Portsmouth to set up for the Great South Run, Portsmouth.
