Enjoy the ambience and food at Pancakes & More from the happyeggco…

During our lunch break the Daisy Green team headed down to Pancakes & More from the happyeggco, to sample the lovely treats on offer.

We thought it might have been noisy, being situated in a very busy area of the Metrocentre, Gateshead, but it was actually very calm and relaxing.

After being greeted by the friendly staff ,we made our way to a table and browsed the menu which we thought quirky, fun and easy to read. What struck us all immediately were the prices, which compete with any less healthy fast food outlet.

As we waited we checked out the decor and loved the children’s art work on the wall. Even cuter, Pancakes & More hold pancake parties for children’s birthdays, which we think would go down a storm. (Although a fabulous idea, the actual layout of Pancakes & More is very open, so for big parties this may be difficult).

The open plan layout was great, as we didn’t feel hemmed in and we could people-watch to our hearts content!

We chose our meals at the table, placed the order at the counter and it wasn’t long until our food arrived.

Happy eggs, happy customers?

Kimberley: I had the freshly baked waffle with Fair Trade bananas, Greek yoghurt and honey. I was tempted to go for something chocolatey but I’m glad I chose this.

The waffle was fresh and the Greek yoghurt came on the side, so I could add as little or as much as I wanted. The whole dish was delicious!

Allison: I chose the pizza feast; pepperoni and mozzarella cheese omelette with a side of potato wedges. This was a perfect option for lunch-time. I really enjoyed the subtle hint of spicy pepperoni along with the stringy cheese.

The restaurant was cute and quirky with delicious food, so I will definitely be going back.

Michelle: I chose the strawberry delight, which was a lovely treat of pancakes with fresh strawberries and strawberry ice-cream. It looked and tasted delicious.

Succulent strawberries paired with creamy ice-cream….the perfect lunchtime treat. Definitely the place to take to take your kids and a great alternative to fast food outlets.

A great big thumbs up for Pancakes & More from the Daisy team – we would all definitely go back!
