Winners of CIPR Awards announced

Last night the Pride awards celebrated the best of the region’s PR industry in a glittering awards ceremony at the Hilton Hotel Gateshead.

The ceremony was attended by PR professionals from across the North East, aswells as journalists and national CIPR representatives.

There were 22 different categories at the event, but the big winner was Mark Allison, mosrt commonly known as Run Geordie Run, who was named as the North East communicator of the year.

The award was given to Mark to honour his run across America, which was covered extensively in the national print and broadcast media. The judges also gave a nod to his use of social media to keep in touch with family and followers.

Other notable winners were Golley Slater North, OPR, Admiral PR and Gardinier Richardson.

Nicola Williamson from Admiral PR was also named as young communicator of the year.

Sally Keith, Chair of CIPR North East, said: “The CIPR PRide Awards recognise and reward the thriving PR profession from across the UK.

“They help to celebrate the importance of demonstrating the value of what we, as public relations professionals, do and the positive impact this profession has on all aspects of business.

“Being named as a CIPR PRide Award winner is a fantastic achievement and I congratulate all of this year’s winners.”
