Sunderland couple honored with national franchise award
A Sunderland couple are celebrating, after their company was named Franchisee Business of the Year in the Startups Awards 2011.
Sue and Dave Burrow launched Jasper’s Newcastle at the end of 2008, and are now on their way to turning over £1 million annually.
The franchise, which caters for more than 100 clients has been so successful, the pair are now planning to open up a second business in 2012.
Willie Herdman, who is special projects manager at the North East BIC and the organisation’s resident franchise adviser, said: “Jaspers are a classic example of how to run a franchise to maximum success levels and I’m delighted that their hard work has been recognised with this national award.
“The BIC is bursting with growing businesses, but those based on-site probably don’t realise that the people who provide them with a sandwich everyday are also very successful entrepreneurs!”
Jasper’s Founder and Director Nathan Siekierski said: “We’re really pleased that Sue and Dave are being recognised this way.
