Vertem celebrated by Citywire
Vertem Asset Management is celebrating after being named by Citywire as one of the year’s top ten wealth manager profiles.
As they have been open for less than a year, founders John Dance and Gary Stockdale were more than a little surprised to be named alongside some of the City’s biggest and most well known players
“No-one said that we were going to be mentioned,” recounts John. “So I was more than a little surprised to open the Citywire email and see us named as one of the best profiles of the year.
“We are both incredibly proud to be ranked so highly by Citywire, as it shows that what we do has real value.”
In their listing, the pair are described as having ‘palpable and infectious’ enthusiasm for what they do, and ‘relish the chance to find and buy the best companies they can’, and it is clear that the pair pride themselves on these statements.
“We have always seen ourselves as being a little different - less formal and rigid than your traditional wealth managers, and this recognition proves it,” John continues.
Vertem was also the only North East based asset manager named on the list, a fact which is a source of great pride for the pair.
“Finance tends to be pretty south-east centric, so in that respect it’s great,” Gary sais.
“It can be hard to get people to trust new players on the market, especially when you are up against national players, but this accolade will really help us build up credibility.
Following this accolade, the pair are now hoping to continue their success well into 2012.
“It’s a great start to the New Year for us,” Gary adds. “We are now looking forward to cultivating other relationships, especially relationships within the North East.
“We have tried really hard to succeed, and it has certainly paid off.”
