One Finance UK expands following funding from NBSL

Everyone knows its tough trying to get a mortgage these days, but despite current market conditions some financial advisory firms are bucking the trend and going for growth. One Finance UK Ltd based in North Shields is a firm of residential mortgage and insurance experts which is known as ‘the one you can trust’. When they needed assistance to help them to grow they turned to NBSL, also a trusted organisation, known for its practical approach in supporting businesses with funding for leadership and management growth which they can access via a simple and quick process.

One Finance UK Ltd wanted to develop and define their strategy in order to increase sales and expand the business but needed consultancy support to help them achieve this. Accordingly the company turned to NBSL for support in funding the costs of a consultant who could assist them to develop their strategy. NBSL is a D-BIS (Department of Business, Innovation and Skills) approved and regulated Local Enterprise Agency and over the last eight years the organisation has delivered the North East’s Leadership & Management Advisory Service, funded by D-BIS’s Skills Funding Agency. Under NBSL this programme has gone from strength to strength, engaging directly with more than 1,000 SMEs each year.

NBSL has secured ERDF investment of £2.38 million to continue to deliver support to the North East’s private sector businesses employing between 2 – 249 employees, and funding is still available which provides grant support of up to £1,000 for business leaders who need coaching for growth.

Following a short meeting with Marian Bassam, one of NBSL’s Leadership and Management Specialist Advisers to identify the areas for development, David Mole from One Finance filled out NBSL’s simple application form which takes only minutes to complete. He was then quickly able to engage consultant Shaun Wheatley of Moto Digital to work with him on developing a highly effective leadership style that would enable cultural change and a shared vision for the company.

Following the project David was soon able to report that steps had already been taken which would lead to recruitment of new staff and the new operational processes introduced had released him to concentrate on bringing in new business. The resulting increase in sales and productivity would have a measurable impact on the company’s success thanks to the consultancy advice.

NBSL still has funding available to support businesses, so if you would like to benefit from grant funding of up to £1,000 towards the cost of developing a strategy for your business, and get your business on the road to growth, contact NBSL now on 01670 813322 or apply online at www.nbsl.org.uk
